Safety statement on use of Almond Oil In Nivea Sun Protect and Care Products for Children

Every raw material used in cosmetic finished products, as well as the finished product itself is assessed by Beiersdorf following state-of-art consumer safety guidelines.

The raw material Almond oil used in Nivea Sun Protect and Care children’s products is a refined oil of sweet almonds. Due to the specific production and purification process, refined almond oil is free of proteins which are the allergenic substances in almonds.

Based on this data, together with the assessed use concentration of almond oil in Nivea Sun Protect and Care products for children, an allergenic potential of this ingredient can be excluded.

The cosmetic product regulation requires all ingredients to be listed on the cosmetic product. For this labelling purpose, it is required to use the common ingredient name according to the International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients (INCI). The INCI name of Sweet Almond Oil is Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis Oil. The products are labelled in compliance with the above-mentioned provisions.
