Translation Cards

If you or your child have a food allergy, Allergy UK can help protect you and your family when travelling abroad.

Call our Helpline to order

Translation cards are available from Allergy UK and will ensure others are made aware of your allergy despite any language barriers.

A set of three plastic cards per language are provided, each the size of a credit card. The cards feature an allergy alert message, an emergency message and a message for use in restaurants to ensure that your food order is free from the particular allergen that causes your reaction.

The cards are printed in English on one side and the language of the country you are visiting on the reverse side.

A set of three cards per language cost £20 with a 20% discount on three or more languages. Please check with our Allergy UK Helpline for details, and allow 2 weeks before travel.

I just wanted to drop you a note to say a huge THANK YOU for providing these cards.

I am so happy to let you know that I didn’t have a single incident in Thailand thanks to the allergy cards, something I never thought would be possible given how much peanuts are used in food there. Every person I showed the cards understood completely and was more than happy to cater for me. In fact, there was only one restaurant that wasn’t able to cater for me throughout the entire two weeks – I’m pretty pleased given that I ate out for almost every single meal.

Thanks so much for providing this service. I’m truly very grateful and will continue to tell people about this and direct them your way. I’ll also be back to order more cards in different languages depending on my travel plans for this/next year. – Lydia, Manchester

Translation Cards

Translation Cards aim to make eating out at home and abroad a less stressful experience for you, but don't just take our word for it.

I’d just like to say that the translation cards I purchased for India were really good. The chefs/hotels took my nut allergy very seriously and were very complimentary regarding the cards. Sadly unlike some restaurants here in the UK who don’t like the idea of serving someone with a nut allergy! I can’t recommend the cards enough and will certainly order additional sets. – Anonymous.

These translations have been obtained and checked by a professional translator/translation company. The cards are correct at the time of printing and Allergy UK cannot accept any responsibility for any matters arising from the use of these cards. From December 2021 we will be reviewing all our translation cards every three years.  To make sure you have the most up to date version please make a note of the purchase date of your translation cards and we recommend that you replace them three years from the date of purchase.
