It’s Allergy Awareness Week!

A week for the spotlight to be on allergy. A week for 20+ million people living with allergy in the UK to be noticed and heard.

Today, Monday 25th October, marks the start of our Allergy Awareness Week and this week, as well as sharing useful allergy resources and signposting you to fantastic information and support, we will be taking you to parliament.

For the past two decades, Allergy UK has been striving to improve access to reliable allergy information and advice. We have done so through the development of hundreds of new resources for patients and for healthcare professionals. We have also held professional Masterclasses for twenty years, increasing opportunities for healthcare professionals to improve their understanding of the diagnosis and management of allergic disease.

Helping people living with Allergic Disease

It is estimated that 21 million people in the UK live with allergic disease. But there remains a huge gap in healthcare services for those affected by this disease of the immune system. Our aim is to raise the profile of allergy at all levels, with a vision for everyone affected by allergy to receive the best possible care and support.

Despite our best efforts, allergy remains a chronically under resourced service within the NHS and this week, we will be making some noise about it and calling for urgent change.

Stay tuned as we take you with us and help us by spreading the message that #ItsTimeTakeAllergySeriously.
