I Wish I Knew

#thesethreethings

During Allergy Awareness Week 2025, we launched our campaign ‘I Wish I Knew’.

Allergy affects millions of people across the UK, yet many still don’t appreciate that allergy is a chronic health condition – not just a minor inconvenience. Consequently important information about allergic disease is overlooked or disregarded. This can include understanding how allergies can affect your overall health and why early intervention is crucial in ensuring allergies are well managed.

Our aim is to ensure anyone who may be affected by allergy one day can recognise symptoms early and seek support to control and manage their allergy. The right knowledge at the right time can change the course of an allergy journey.

We started our conversation during Allergy Awareness Week 2025, by highlighting three things everyone needs to know about allergy. Knowing these three things can make it so much easier to take action at the earliest signs of an allergy, minimise complications and possibly even change the course of an allergy journey altogether.

We also invited anyone living with allergies to share what they wish they had known sooner via our ‘Wall of Allergy Wisdom. The wisdom gained from these real-life stories can help someone else avoid a difficult situation or navigate their journey with greater confidence.

We are now continuing the campaign for Allergy Awareness Week 2026 – Diagnosis Matters. This year, the focus is on helping people recognise the signs of allergy, understand why early diagnosis is so important, and access the right support to manage their condition safely. Explore practical resources, real-life experiences and guidance to take control of allergy at the Allergy Awareness Week 2026 Hub.
