Celebrating 35 Years of Allergy UK

Over the past 35 years, Allergy UK has helped change how allergy is understood and supported across the UK. From training healthcare professionals and schools to developing trusted resources and campaigns, the charity has consistently worked to improve awareness, care and standards. At the centre of it all is our Helpline, offering expert guidance, reassurance and support to thousands of people every year.

While awareness has grown since 1991, too many people still face uncertainty, delayed diagnosis and limited access to specialist care. Allergy UK continues to be a trusted source of practical advice and evidence-based information, helping people manage conditions and navigate NHS services with confidence.

A timeline of Allergy UK

As the charity celebrates this landmark anniversary, it is also an opportunity to reflect on how far allergy care and awareness have come. From its beginnings as the British Allergy Foundation to becoming today’s leading national allergy charity, Allergy UK’s story is one of innovation, persistence and compassion.
