World Atopic Eczema Day
It’s World Atopic Eczema Day and people are coming together to raise awareness of a condition that affects millions of children and adults globally. It serves as a global platform to amplify the voices of people affected by eczema, advocate for better care, and campaign for policy changes to address the invisible burdens of this chronic skin condition.
Persistent itching, disrupted sleep, pain, anxiety, low confidence and the challenges of managing flare-ups mean that atopic eczema can affect every aspect of daily life, including school, work, relationships and overall wellbeing.
Allergy UK is supporting the global #BreakTheInvisibleBurden campaign aiming to raise awareness of hidden physical, emotional and social burden of atopic eczema, whilst encouraging greater understanding, support and access to appropriate care.
We are also encouraging our supporters to join the campaign:
- Share your story on social media using #BreakTheInvisibleBurden.
- Help raise awareness of the emotional and psychological impact of eczema.
- Encourage friends, family, employers and healthcare professionals to learn more about the condition.
Allergy UK has information and support resources on eczema
Together, we can help make the invisible burden of atopic eczema visible and support better outcomes for everyone affected.
