Bradley’s Story
Fourteen-year-old Bradley lives with food allergies and dreams of opening a restaurant which caters for all allergies AND he still finds time to train for fundraising runs which raise money to help others.
Bradley, who has allergies to nuts and eggs, has recently completed a fourth 2.5km run in Birmingham to raise money for Allergy UK, running as part of a club and by himself.
Fundraising isn’t his only ambition when it comes to helping people living with allergies.
His mum Jennifer explains: “Bradley wants to be a chef and run a restaurant where people who live with allergies can walk in and order off the menu without any concerns and without any fuss.
“Sometimes we eat out as a family and it’s not always easy; we struggle with the hidden allergens in some recipes and sometimes people don’t understand the potential seriousness off allergies.
“We look to the future when allergies are better understood.
“For now, Bradley enjoys running and he wants to help other people. He had his first episode when he was nine months old so can’t remember a time without allergies.
“We’re proud of him and he’s such a sensible boy, he asks questions and he checks menus. We’ve had struggles like everyone else, but we try to stay positive.”
