Join Our Youth Groups

A safe space for people living with allergies aged between 13-17 or 18-25.

Youth Engagement Group Hub

A safe, welcoming space for young people living with allergies.

At Allergy UK, we know that living with allergies, intolerances, or sensitivities can feel overwhelming, stressful, or even isolating at times. That’s why we created our Youth Engagement Groups: a place where young people can come together to connect with peers who truly understand what it’s like, share experiences, and support each other through the ups and downs of everyday life.

In these groups, you’ll find a space to talk openly about challenges, exchange practical tips and strategies, and gain confidence in managing your allergies in school, at home, and in social situations. The sessions are led by someone in your age bracket who also has food allergies, so you can relate to their experiences firsthand. You’ll also have the chance to meet like-minded young people, make friends, and be part of a supportive community that understands and values your experiences.

13-17’s Youth Engagement Group

A space for teens to share experiences, swap practical tips, and have fun while learning strategies that make everyday life a little easier. Whether it’s handling allergies at school, eating out with friends, or managing reactions at home, you’ll learn practical ways to feel more confident and prepared.

The group is facilitated by a peer in your age group who lives with food allergies, offering relatable guidance and first-hand insights. Here, you’ll never have to explain yourself – we just get it. This group is for anyone aged 13–17 who wants to connect, be heard, and build friendships with others living with allergies, intolerances, or sensitivities. It’s a welcoming, supportive space where you can talk openly about challenges, share what works for you, and learn from the experiences of others.

18-25’s Youth Engagement Group

Support, understanding and action for young adults

We’re a friendly bunch of people who are all in the same boat, so you never need to explain yourself. This group is for anyone aged 18-25 living with allergies, intolerances, skin sensitivities, or asthma.

We support each other, share practical advice and campaign for change, from working with the NHS and politicians to raising awareness in schools and the media. Join us to feel understood and make a difference.

Achievements so far

  • Establishing three dedicated groups for young people and parents/carers.
  • Created a safe, inclusive online space for sharing experiences.
  • Hosted guest speakers, including allergy specialists and psychologists.
  • Developed a Code of Conduct and clear group purpose.

Our ambitions

  • Grow our membership and reach more young people and families.
  • Organise face-to-face social events and activities.
  • Influence policy and practice through engagement with the NHS, schools and catering companies.
  • Raise awareness in the media and wider community about living with allergies.

I have loved being part of the group. It’s been such a welcoming and supportive environment and it’s been great to meet friends who really understand. We’ve had important conversations about allergies and some amazing guest speakers, including an allergy psychologist and Allergy UK staff.
