Lord Syed Kamall

Lord Syed Kamall is a Conservative member of the House of Lords, created Baron Kamall as part of the 2020 Political Honours list. He current serves as the Shadow Minister for Health and Social Care. He is also Co-Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for the Commonwealth.

He has previously served as the Minister for Technology, Innovation and Life Sciences at the Department of Health and Social Care and the Minister for Civil Society, Heritage, Tourism and Growth at the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport. From 2005 to 2019, he was a Member of the European Parliament for London and was the leader of the European Conservatives and Reformists pan-EU political group of MEPs from 19 countries, where he worked to promote open trade, tech start-ups and proportionate financial regulation. As the most senior elected British MEP, he acted as an interlocutor between UK and EU negotiators.
