Who are you and what do you do?

What are your business objectives with regards to allergy and supporting people with allergic disease?

At Purina, we believe pets and people are better together, and we are committed to making a difference to help preserve their unique bonds. Unfortunately, cat allergens may limit the loving interactions between cat lovers and cats, and can be a huge barrier to cat ownership, potentially leading to cat re-homing or abandonment. This was the motivation behind the development of a new scientific approach to cat allergens reduction and ultimately, the product PRO PLAN® LIVECLEAR®. We’re on a mission to improve the lives of pet owners who are sensitive to cat allergens, prevent cats relinquishment and remove barrier to cat ownership.

Why have you chosen to partner with Allergy UK?

Purina are partnering with Allergy UK to help raise awareness and promote education around the topic of cat allergies to support people who are directly affected but also Health Care Professionals who are advising pet owners on coping strategies and solutions. We’re also proud that PRO PLAN® LIVECLEAR® has earned Allergy Friendly Product Award which is a valuable signpost for people affected by allergies.

What is the overall objective for the partnership?

As a result of this partnership, we aim to help equip Health Care Professionals and pet owners with accurate advice on management strategies and holistic options available to them to minimize the impact of cat allergens on their lives and continue enjoying the special relationship with their cats and hence help prevent cat relinquishments caused by cat allergen sensitivities.
