1000 mile walk nearly completed in support of Allergy UK
Joanne Radway, from Newbridge, Bath, has taken on a different kind of fundraising challenge this year. In February, she decided to walk 1000 miles for Allergy UK throughout 2018. Her motivation for this incredible challenge was to help raise awareness around allergies whilst taking in some gorgeous scenery, within the UK and abroad, with her friends, family and a few dogs too.
“We have a bit of an allergy-thing in our family… cats, dust, nuts and sesame. Auto-Adrenalin Injectors, anti-histamines and moisturising creams are a common feature in our house. I love walking so I thought, let’s walk 1000 miles for Allergy UK in 2018. How hard can it be?”
Over the year, Jo has also organised her ‘Jo’s Jollies’, encouraging families in her local community to join her on her hikes to get families walking and talking about allergies. To date, over 300 people have joined Jo on her jollies. Now with only 70 miles to go, Jo is planning to complete this mammoth challenge by the 18th November, when she is holding her last ‘thank you’ walk up Kelston Roundhill.
To date, Jo has raised an incredible £1,675 and is still taking donations here.
