Guidance on adrenaline auto-injectors in schools published in Northern Ireland and Wales

Guidance on adrenaline auto-injectors in schools has now been published in Northern Ireland and Wales.

The guidance follows new legislation passed in Westminster earlier this year to allow schools in the UK to purchase and keep spare adrenaline auto-injectors (AAIs) for emergency use.

AAIs deliver a potentially life-saving dose of adrenaline in the event of a severe allergic reaction (anaphylaxis).  Adrenaline is the first-line emergency treatment for anaphylaxis.
