Carla Jones Appointed as a Board Member of EFA
Carla Jones, CEO of Allergy UK, was appointed as a Board Member of the European Federation of Allergy and Airways Diseases Patients’ Associations (EFA) on the first day of its 2017 Annual General and Strategy Meeting in Florence on 21 May. (Carla is second right , front row).
EFA is an independent non-profit organisation founded in 1991 in Sweden and now based in Brussels. It is an alliance of over 30 allergy, asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) patients’ associations which represents 30% of European citizens who are currently living with these diseases.
Speaking from the Meeting in Italy Carla said: “I am delighted to be given this opportunity to serve on the Board of EFA representing Allergy UK, the leading patient charity for people living with allergic disease. EFA’s vision, on an European level, aligns with ours in the UK in its aspiration that all people with allergy live uncompromised lives, have the right and access to best quality care, participate in their care and have a safe environment. It is a privilege to have the opportunity to work with our European counterparts on the common cause of raising the profile of these diseases and sharing experience and knowledge to help improve the lives of those affected.”
