ALLERGY UK'S VERY OWN HERO
Arlo, Allergy UK's 2018 Child Hero, is taking on the walk of his life - tackling a marathon to raise money for Allergy UK. At the same time he will be honouring Dr. William Frankland, a legendary figure in the world of allergy, who sadly died recently. Dr. Frankland presented Arlo's award at the 2018 Allergy Heroes event. At the time there was a 100 years age difference between the two.
Arlo only has 12 days to complete his challenge, and he will be walking every day in a different fancy dress outfit!
"Coronavirus means that charities like Allergy UK will be very short of money to help people in need. I want to do what I can to help them like they've helped me. I am walking a marathon in 12 days to honour Dr Frankland who is a hero of mine, and I've chosen to wear fancy dress to jazz it up! I feel proud telling people that I am walking a marathon for Allergy UK".
For Carla Jones, Allergy UK's CEO Arlo is a superhero:
"It's a wonderful thing to do for Allergy UK, made even more special by this tribute to Dr. Frankland. We are wishing Arlo all the very best for his marathon walk and we will be thinking of him every step of the way".
