We are continually seeking ways to improve the quality of life for people with allergy by offering as much information as possible. Our Helpline dealt with nearly 19,000 enquiries last year and in the last 3 months over 10,000 fact sheets have been downloaded from our website. There is a real need for information and help regarding all aspects of allergy, intolerance and chemical sensitivity.
At present there are very few trained allergists in the UK and we are actively campaigning for increased training posts to be made available. For most people with allergy their General Practitioner is the first person that they turn to for diagnosis and treatment. Unfortunately there has been a lack of Government investment in training in allergy for Primary Care health professionals but through our Masterclasses and our on-line Diploma we are actively helping to educate those that will be able to provide the service where it is needed most.
We are working hard to make a difference, but we need your support.
The services that Allergy UK provide makes a huge difference to the quality of life of people with allergy and with the ever increasing demand for our information, advice and support services we desperately need your help.
If you would like to help us you can do so in a number of ways:
