What is the Allergy Friendly Service listing?
Allergy UK's Allergy Friendly Service listing provides members of the public, with guidance when using service being promoted as allergy friendly. Allergy UK has a very high public profile and the media are extremely supportive of its efforts to assist allergy sufferers. The Allergy Friendly Service listing is a commercial arrangement between Allergy Research Limited (the trading company of our charity "The British Allergy Foundation" with the operational name of "Allergy UK") and your company.
What are the benefits of having the Allergy Friendly Service logo?
The logo is instantly recognisable and gives a clear indication that the service has received recognition, for the efforts they have made to provide a service which is of benefit to people who suffer from allergy, intolerance or sensitivities.
Can I use the Allergy Friendly Service logo on marketing material?
Yes, once your service is under licence you will be entitled to use the logo on your marketing materials, website and all media activities.
Do you help in marketing our product?
Yes, we market your service by adding your service to our products and services listing, available both on our website and a paper listing sent out to all our enquirers. The service remains on these listings all the time it's under licence with us. We will also add the service to the new products and services page of our website, included as a link on our e-newsletter sent out to over 17,000 people, the service remains on this particular page until the next e-newsletter is sent out (approx 8 weeks).
How do I apply?
A completed application form is required to start the process and this can be obtained from the commercial team. Submit this outlining the ways in which your service is of benefit to sufferers of allergy, intolerance or sensitivities. You will then be provided with a bespoke quotation, a terms of assessment agreement and invoice will then be issued, which should be signed and returned, together with full payment before we are in a position to assess your 'service'.
How long does the application process take?
This will vary according to the extent of benefits provided within your service, we aim to conclude the assessment within 6 weeks.
What happens after the assessment?
At the end of this time you will receive a copy of the report with the recommendations for the Allergy Friendly Service listing, the ways in which your service is of benefit to sufferers of allergy, intolerance or sensitivities will be outlined within the report. If the service has been successful, a licence agreement will be issued for your signature, followed by a certificate.
How much does it cost?
There is a standard cost of £1,750 + VAT, please contact our commercial team for a quotation, as this may vary according to the service.
How do we pay?
You can either pay by cheque or bank transfer (BACS) prior to the assessment.
Can we use our own in house team for assessment?
No, the assessment will organised by Allergy UK and conducted by a panel of people experienced in allergy, based on the service information submitted and the assessment visit (if applicable).
Is the Allergy Friendly Service listing valid for the lifetime of the service?
Allergy UK will request an update of any changes to the service, as outlined within the original agreement, the licence for the agreement is annually renewable at a cost.
What if I improve my service during the year?
We ask you to keep us informed of such changes. If you have changed the ways in which your service is of benefit to sufferers of allergy, intolerance or sensitivities we may need to reassess the service as well as to ensure we are providing the correct information for consumers, there may be a further cost, depending on the changes involved.
