Seal of Approval Endorsement
The Seal of Approval is an internationally recognised endorsement, with extremely high standards. Our testing is completely independent and carried out by scientific experts, and carries with it a responsibility on our part to ensure that the products we award the Seal to are worthy recipients.
In general terms, to obtain the Seal the product must be able to be tested, scientifically, with a proven, measurable result of restricting or removing allergens or the product must have a significantly reduced allergen content, and it can be proved that these have no way of escaping during cleaning or emptying of the product. By looking through our list of current Seal holders it is possible to get a reasonable idea of the type of product we will award the Seal to.

Allergy Friendly Product
The Allergy Friendly Product award is also widely recognized and a vital award for allergy sufferers. The product assessment is carried out by a panel of experts who assess the product from a consumer point of view, making sure that the product provides them with a benefit in some way. In addition to this a specific consultant (i.e. dermatologist) will also check the product thoroughly to ensure that there is nothing about it which could harm an allergy sufferer or cause an allergic reaction.
We also request that companies provide 10 samples of each product to be trialed for suitability by sufferers of allergy, intolerance or sensitivity.
It is extremely important to note that the Allergy Friendly Product award is in no way a substitution for the Seal of Approval, and that their functions are entirely different. Under no circumstances would the Allergy Friendly Product award be given to products which do not meet the rigorous standards of the Seal of Approval. The function of the Allergy Friendly Product award is to provide consumers with guidance when looking for products which can help make sufferers of allergy, intolerance or sensitivity's, lives easier and more pleasant simply by their use, rather than by anything the product specifically does, such as an air filter that removes allergens.

Allergy Friendly Service
The Allergy Friendly Service listing is our latest introduction, we aim to help and advise consumers regarding places to stay or services to use, which may be more suitable for them, as the 'service provider' will  have made significant efforts, either in the products they use or within the environment provided. i.e. a hotel may use endorsed anti allergy bedding, vacuum cleaner, chemical free cleaning products and provide complimentary soaps which are suitable for sensitive skin.
Whilst we cannot 100% guarantee the services to consumers, as it would be impossible to 'police'. We will have advised the 'service provider' on various requirements to reduce the exposure to allergens in different ways, therefore making it possible to provide a service which is less likely to affect someone suffering from allergy, intolerance or sensitivities.
If you believe your 'service' is beneficial to a sufferer of allergy, intolerance or sensitivities, please contact the commercial team to discuss this endorsement further.
