We feel that it is very important for the general public to be aware that we are here to help.
1 in 3 of the population now suffer from some kind of allergic disease.
Allergy is a multi organ disease can appear at any time with a wide range of symptoms all of which impact on the sufferer’s life to varying degrees. Some people will find the symptoms irritating but little more than inconvenient, for others allergy can impact severely on all aspects of life and for some it can even be life threatening. It is not only the sufferer who is affected, allergy impacts on the family too. Avoidance, management and support are the key words for allergy sufferers. We would like to hear from you on how allergy affects not only your daily life but also your children’s.
You may have read recently that Allergy UK launched a new children’s campaign in May 2007 called Blossom. Blossom aims specifically at stopping allergies spoiling childhood, by providing advice, support and education for the 4.7 million allergic children in the UK, up to the age of 18 years. By ensuring that parents understand allergy, we can help children be supported as they grow so enabling them to eventually manage their own condition effectively. By helping other children understand about the effects of allergy, we can stop both the exclusion and the bullying related to allergy and allergic conditions.
We would be very grateful if you felt able to help us and spare a few minutes to answer the appropriate online survey, please complete a separate Blossom Survey for each allergic child in your family, the surveys can be found by clicking on the following links.
