How can I get a fundraising pack ?

Our fundraising pack is full of advice and ideas to help you plan your fundraising event. For your tailored pack please call Jim on 01322 470331 or e-mail jim@allergyuk.org

How can I collect sponsorship money online ?

If you are holding a sponsored event you can set up your own online sponsorship page through Just Giving ( http://www.justgiving.com ) you can then send the link to all your friends and family. We receive the sponsorship money straight into our bank account on a weekly basis.

Can I claim Gift Aid on my donation?

Gift aid allows us to claim back the tax paid on donations made by individuals. You can increase the
money you raise by simply asking your sponsors to complete the gift aid declaration on the sponsor form or within Just Giving. Gift aid can only be claimed on sponsorship and donations. Please note that we are unable to claim gift aid on ticket sales, raffle sales, corporate sponsorship, sale of goods or auction proceeds.

I want to approach companies for prizes or sponsorship; do I need to tell you?

Yes, we need to know of any companies that you approach as this ensures that should the company contact us we can confirm that the approach is genuinely for us. We can provide you with a letter acknowledging that you are holding an event for Allergy UK and template letters to ask local companies if they would like to donate a prize or be involved in your event in any way.

How do I send you the money I have raised?

If you have collected sponsor money manually as opposed to online, then donations can be made by cheque (payable to "Allergy UK" ) and sent to:

Allergy UK
Planwell House
Lefa Business Park
Edgington Way
Sidcup
Kent
DA14 5BH

Please make sure you clearly mark who you are and that you enclose any completed sponsor forms so we can correctly claim the additional gift aid contributions from the Inland Revenue.

Do I need insurance for my event?

Depending on the type of event, it could well be covered by Allergy UK's own insurance so it is worth ringing us and checking this out first of all.

Do I need a special licence for my event?

This depends very much on the type of event and where it is being held. For example a raffle can be held privately at a social event where people have bought tickets to come to the function but you could not hold a raffle and sell tickets door to door or in the street without a special licence. You definitely would need a special licence for street or door to door collections. It is always worth contacting your local council to check on the licence requirements for your particular area.
