With the introduction of the Food Information Regulations in December 2014, catering outlets have to be compliant with EU regulations on food allergen labelling. Any establishment serving food must be able to provide information, by law, on which of the top 14 allergens are present in their dishes.
Inevitably, the legislative changes have created challenges for some catering outlets. However, Allergy UK understands the needs of the allergic and intolerant community and is able to guide and support catering outlets with the Allergy Aware Scheme.
