Joining the Support Contact Network

Get more involved - For people living with allergy the comfort, advice and support offered by our volunteer network of support contacts is priceless.

Being a Support Contact is a very worthwhile and rewarding activity as you are able to give help and advice on everyday issues when living with allergy, at a time when many people feel that they don’t get the help and support they need from elsewhere. Many people have been comforted knowing they are not alone with their allergy, and to have a friendly, helpful person to talk to in their local area is a bonus.

Being a support contact will also give you the opportunity to meet others in your area with allergy/food intolerance or chemical sensitivity. Maybe organise a coffee morning or even a fundraising event. Every bit of support helps.

The feedback we receive from our network of contacts is vital if we are to support each other and continue to raise awareness of allergy. It may be that you have found a new product that has proved to be of benefit or have been on holiday and found that the staff were particularly helpful. You may know of a new allergy clinic in your area – all of this is helpful for us to pass on to our members.

You will also be sent a full pack of information which will include things like posters, that you can display in your local area and you will have the support of your National Co-ordinator at all times.
