Allergy UK has a nationwide network of support contacts who are happy to offer advice and support to fellow sufferers.
Our support contacts are a dedicated group of people who are themselves people with allergy or their carers, They are not medically qualified but give up their free time to help and advise others in coming to terms with the everyday problems they face.
Often when diagnosed with an allergic problem the doctor can be too clinical using words not easily understood, so it is extremely helpful to have somebody who has
been through the process, able to talk to you in every day language to guide you in the right direction to provide the help and support you need.
Often it is just nice to know that similar things have happened to others and they have been able to get through that difficult time. The contacts themselves will not give medical advice, indeed this could be extremely dangerous, but they are a listening ear at the end of the phone able to offer sympathetic and practical help and support.
