Allergy UK receives many enquiries every year from allergy sufferers wanting information about products available that will not cause their allergies to become worse. With over 30% of the UK population suffering from allergies at one time in their lives, it is becoming increasingly important for companies to provide products they can use safely, in the knowledge that they have been tested and approved by an internationally recognised organisation with very high standards.

In light of the need to give allergy sufferers the reassurance they need, Allergy UK has developed a number of product schemes which do just this, and provide the public with guidance when purchasing 'allergy friendly' products. Seal of Approval

Our main endorsement is the Seal of Approval which is given to products that specifically restrict/reduce/remove allergens from the environment of allergy sufferers and also for products which have significantly reduced allergen content. The type of products that currently hold the Seal of Approval Award include vacuum cleaners, steam cleaners, bedding, flooring/carpets, air cleaners & filtration systems, cars, cleaning products, cleaning services, tissues and washing machines.

Allergy Friendly Product

The Allergy Friendly Product award is intended for products that may generally benefit allergy sufferers and improve their state of health and wellbeing or for people who wish to reduce their chemical load. Products displaying this logo have been assessed by our panel of advisors and the appropriate type of allergy expert to confirm its suitability. The logo gives a clear indication that the product has our endorsement.

Allergy Friendly Service

The Allergy Friendly Service lisitng is our latest introduction to help you find places to stay or services to use, which may be more suitable as they have made significant efforts, either in the products they use or the environment provided. i.e. a hotel may use endorsed anti allergy bedding, vacuum cleaner, chemical free cleaning products and provide complimentary soaps which are suitable for sensitive skin.
