Allergy Friendly Hotels

If you, or someone in your family suffer from an allergy, going on holiday, or just staying away from home for a night or two, can be far from a relaxing experience.

In 2007 Allergy UK prepared a report on The Impact of Allergies and Asthma on People's Holidays and  found that 74.5% of people feel that their allergies and asthma impact on their holidays and they have to considered their needs before booking.

"We have some experience of that in our family", says Clare Millar, the founder of allergyfriendlyhotels.com. "A couple of years ago my husband found out that he suffered from a severe dust mite allergy. Although he was able to control the allergic rhinitis at home by taking the necessary precautions, he found that as soon as he stayed away from home in a hotel or B&B, the symptoms returned immediately.  We decided that, in the future, we needed to stay somewhere that was more 'home from home', where the needs of allergy sufferers had been thought about.  And so the idea of creating a directory of allergy friendly accommodation was born...."

www.allergyfriendlyhotels.com is unique, user friendly, and dedicated to allergy sufferers, The site lists accommodation that has rooms with features that may be suitable for allergy sufferers and/or cater for those with food allergies or intolerances.  Each listing provides details of the relevant allergy friendly features empowering visitors to the site to establish if the accommodation is likely to be suitable for their needs.  If in doubt, visitors are strongly recommended to check with the accommodation direct before making a booking.

Here at Allergy UK we love the concept of this new website and are delighted that we are working in association with them.
