Be a Support Contact
Every allergy sufferer knows that having allergies can be a very frightening and at times lonely experience especially when you or your child has just been diagnosed. To be able to pick up the telephone and speak with someone who has had such an experience, can give you practical tips on everyday management and on things that have worked for them really can make an enormous difference.
If you have experience of managing allergy and would be willing to take the occasional telephone call to help someone else simply by being a listening ear we would love to hear from you.
Talk to press (Being a Case Study)
We work very closely with the press who play an invaluable role in raising awareness of the problems of living with allergy and the best people to get this message across are allergy sufferers themselves.
You could help our work by being prepared to speak on the telephone to a reporter about the difficulties that you have faced. Not only would this raise awareness of allergy but it could lead to someone who needs help making contact with us and thereby getting the advice they need.
Representing Allergy Sufferers
We are always seeking people who are prepared to work with us to campaign for improved allergy services. People can help us to do this by writing to their MP and Primary Care Trust, writing to the local paper and radio station to highlight the lack of resources being given to allergy services and helping us with specific campaigns that we run throughout the year.
Arrange a fundraising event
Fundraising is a very social way to be involved with Allergy UK. Take a look at our fundraising ideas and then request your fundraising pack which is also packed full of suggestions. To find out more - Click Here

Payroll Giving
Regular donations are a major source of support for the projects we run and Payroll Giving is one of the easiest, most tax efficient ways of doing this.
Donations made through Payroll Giving are taken direct from your gross pay by your employer, which means that your donation will cost you up to 40% less due to it being taken from your salary before tax is deducted.
If you are interested in being a regular donor it is worth asking your payroll department whether they offer the scheme, and if they don't perhaps suggesting that they could consider doing so. Payroll Giving schemes are easy and inexpensive to run. If your employer does offer the scheme it is worth asking if they will be willing to match your donation as many companies will do this.
Visit the HMRC Website for further information.
Legacies / Wills
If you are considering making a will, leaving a legacy to Allergy UK not only assists our work to carry on but also ensures that your estate has to pay less inheritance tax. If you need further advice on the tax benefits of making a legacy it is worth talking to your solicitor or Will Maker.
In Memory hosted on Just Giving
Losing someone dear is always a painful experience but sometimes it can help to have a special place to commemorate them. Creating a special web page in their memory can be a nice way to share your memories of that person and at the same time make a gift to Allergy UK in their name.
To do this is quite simple and you can create it yourself by going to the JustGiving Website and select "RAISE MONEY" and then "CREATE YOUR PAGE". Then select "In memory of someone" and follow the instructions.
